About the Artist...

Michael Maxam's painting career spans over 20 years. This Californian native is a self-taught artist who's been sketching and drawing since early childhood.

Michael is accomplished artist in oils, acrylics, water-colors, gouache, pastels, charcoal, airbrushing and several other mediums.

After an athletic career, Michael turned to working as a Commercial Artist, Illustrator and Art Director for several Fortune 500 companies. Michael's "informal art training" began at Hughes Aircraft Company as an Illustrator back in the 1980's. His passion for art and sports naturally lead him to painting top athlete's doing what they do best. Aviation, marine life, wildlife and beautiful tropical themes are also currently subjects of inspiration.

Michael's paintings have been enthusiastically commissioned by private collectors worldwide.
